“Ehara tāku toa, i te toa takitahi, engari he toa takitini.
My strength is not as an individual but as a collective.”
Principal- Te Kura o Whetūkairangi - Worser Bay School
I bring many years of successful leadership experience and a passion for supporting the growth of individuals, groups of people and organisations to perform at their best.
Beginning my career as a teacher, I have now had 25+ years leading teams in a variety of settings, extensive experience as a School Principal, a coach, and a facilitator.
I love ideas, I love to listen, I love to learn, I love complexity, I love the idea of our Kāhui Ako 'people' bringing their heads and hearts together in the attempt to find solutions to difficult problems .....and find the joy, energy and passion in doing so!

Tēnā Koutou Katoa,
Nō Te Tairāwhiti ahau engari i tipu ake au i Te Motu Kairangi.
Ko Suzanne Kershaw tōku ingoa.
He kaiako ahau ki Te Kura o Whetūkairangi.
20 years ago I trained as a Primary Teacher so that I could make a difference in our community by working with our children and their whānau. I am fortunate to be part of an amazing team of teachers at Worser Bay School where I am currently teaching and part of the Leadership Team in my Additional Support Coordinator role. My heart is in the classroom working alongside students and teachers to provide responsive programmes that see students thriving in all areas of school life.
I am fortunate to be part of the Across School Lead Team working and collaborating across our Kāhui Ako schools to increase achievement for all ākonga.

Miramar North School
Kia ora,
I have been a primary school teacher for over 15 years, teaching in the UK and in Karori before joining Miramar North School in 2022.
Throughout my teaching career I have enjoyed mentoring student teachers and beginning teachers, watching them grow in terms of their skills in the classroom, but also in their confidence to reflect and problem solve.
In my role as Team Leader, Assistant Principal and PB4L lead, I have successfully led groups of people towards the shared goal of doing the best for our tamariki.
Having strong relationships with ākonga, their whānau, and other kaiako is extremely important to me. I enjoyed being a Within School Lead in 2024. I am excited to continue working collaboratively with colleagues across Te Kāhui Ako o te Motu Kairangi in order to increase teacher confidence and leadership capability, and therefore student achievement.
